Swan Lake

In an attempt to become more cultured we headed to the recently completed Emirates Palace Hotel for an evening of ballet.
This is our second visit here as we previously went to see Romeo and Juliet, performed by the Russian Festival Ballet. The theatre has been pretty well designed with roomy seats, good views from everywhere and fairly good acoustics and is a great addition to Abu Dhabi. Unfortunately I don't think the stage is sprung as we could clearly hear the tapping from the ballerinas blocks.
This performance was of Swan Lake by the Moscow Theatre Ballet accompanied by the Moscow Symphony Orchestra and we even managed to take some piccies for you to see.

It was a great night out. We are just waiting to see something other than ballet. Madame Butterfly should be coming soon, then hopefully they will put on some plays.

Well... the story was easier to understand. But it seriously lacked vodka, cheap drinks of any kind (glass of wine was £4) and only had the one interval. But on the plus side, we never wondered where Catherine the Great was! Oh, and when we came out it was about 30 degrees C rather than -10 with about 75% humidity
