Geography lesson

I have been asked where is Al Ain, so thought it was easier to show this map.

Al Ain is east and inland of Abu Dhabi right by the Oman border.

It is in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and has an ancient history with evidence of prehistoric man.

It has been built up around a large oasis and due to this had a moderate pre-oil population.

This map is rather out of date as the UAE doesn't share a boarder with Qatar anymore, but finding a map that shows this is not easy.

The United Arab Emirates consists of 7 Emirates with Abu Dhabi being the largest by miles. The rest are:
Dubai; Sharjah; Ajman; Umm al Quwain; Ras al Khaimah; and Fujairah. You will notice that the major cities in each Emirate share the name of that Emirate.
